Rafe had BVAP (Bilateral Vocal Fold Excision (Mucosoplasty) & Bilateral Arytenoidpexy) surgery for his Lar Par. He recovered great and is back to doing therapy work. He still minds the humidity but I just keep him cool and we only do events that are held indoors. I chose this surgery rather than a traditional “tie back” for the followingreasons:
Dogs can swim post-op, which is not recommended after tie back
Creates a more functional airway
Can continue to eat a raw diet
Significantly less prone to aspiration pneumonia
